Kris Has a House for Rent

Hey y'all -- we are looking for a roommate! We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in the CD. Rent is $1100/month + $33/mo for internet + ~$120/mo for utilities (fluctuates). The deposit is $800. Our home is queer-friendly and we welcome BIPOC folks! About us: We are Kris (they/them, white, 32) and Karla (she/her, Latina, 32). We have been friends for 10 years and have lived together in multiple community houses over the years. Kris loves music, spending time in community, being outside, making art, and adventuring. Big Sagittarius energy. Earnest neurodivergent vibes. They have been working in nonprofits for 10 years, and they're a massage therapist. They are often up early and in bed early, occasionally making an exception for dancing. They are gluten free and dairy free (regretably) but it is ok if glutenous dairy-filled things are in the house. Karla is a Taurus through and through — grounded, creative, and always bringing cozy, intentional energy to a space. She works in fashion and splits her time between styling clients, working events, and other creative projects. Her work is hybrid, so some days she’s out and about a lot, while others she’s heads-down working from home. Karla loves hanging with friends, outdoorsy activities, dancing, reading, and decompressing with mindless reality TV. Early-ish riser, night owl leaning. We value peace, collaboration, and kind, respectful communication in our home. We value social justice and anti-oppression, and we hope for a roommate who shares those values. About once a month, we get together for a house dinner, and it's a fun time! To divide up shared tasks in the house, we have a chore chart, and we love it! We like to keep the common spaces in the house relatively clean and tidy, but not like museum-level clean. The space feels lived-in. We value everyone's health, and covid is still a thing (and the flu and other communicable diseases!). If anyone is sick in the house, we ask that they mask in common spaces to prevent getting other roommates sick - and to test for covid so we can take extra precautions if needed. We'd love to hear about any health needs our new roommate has in their home. We do not currently have pets, and unfortunately we cannot have a full-time pet due to allergies. We do have a few dog visitors that come to hang for brief periods every once in awhile. About the house: We live in a well-loved house in the Central District. - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - backyard shed for more storage - 1 parking spot for each tenant - several raised garden beds (we'd love to live with someone who has some gardening know how but obvi not required) - a bonus standup freezer for more freezer storage - washer/dryer - dishwasher - lots of plants - lots of art - a lil cold in the winter - a lil hot in the summer - an overall homey space Our house is fully furnished (except the room you'd be moving into), but we are happy to hear about all the things you want to bring into the space and are happy to negotiate swapping out furniture you'd like to bring into the space!
