Welcome to The Batter: Experience Dublin's 'Craic' in Historic Stoneybatter!
Welcome to our beautiful red-brick Victorian home! We are Fiona and Liam, and we are delighted to offer you a comfortable and authentic base to explore Dublin. We love sharing the best of Dublin—the famous 'Craic' (the Irish art of fun, conversation, and good times) is truly part of our culture, and we aim to make your visit one to remember.
Your Hosts & The Vibe
We have lived in Stoneybatter (or 'The Batter', as locals call it) for over 20 years. Having travelled extensively—from Australia and the USA to Africa, Europe, and Asia—we genuinely enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories, and learning about different cultures. We invite you to enjoy our house as if it were your own.
Please Note Our Policy: This is a lively family home, and the space is not set up for dedicated remote work or study. We host guests who are primarily in Ireland as interns, at English language school or on short-term visits.
The Home & Amenities
Built in 1863, our spacious 3-story Victorian house has been lovingly renovated to be clean, welcoming, and full of unique character.
Our comfortable guest rooms feature:
Large, comfortable double beds.
High ceilings and large windows.
Plenty of space to unpack and relax.
Guests have access to:
A large, clean kitchen for preparing light meals.
Washing machine facilities.
Our spacious, quiet city garden.
The Neighbourhood: Stoneybatter
You will be staying in one of Dublin's most exciting spots! Stoneybatter was recently voted Ireland's "Coolest Neighbourhood" and ranked 50th globally by Time Out Magazine.
This historic area, one of Dublin’s oldest continuously inhabited districts, has a fantastic sense of community and is packed with character. You’ll find great local gems just steps away, including:
Cool Cafes & Restaurants: Explore local favorites like Social Fabric, Grano, and The Cake Cafe.
Shops & Facilities: Bars, gyms, yoga studios, art studios, and local shops are all extremely close by on foot.
Education: We are close to the newly built Dublin Institute of Technology campus.
Location & Transport
Everything in Dublin City is highly walkable from our door, as Dublin is a relatively small city by global standards.
5 minutes walk to the vast green space of the Phoenix Park.
10 minutes walk to Heuston Train Station.
10 minutes walk to the LUAS Line (Dublin’s tram system).
15-20 minutes walk to Dublin City Centre and O'Connell Street.
For longer journeys, a reliable bus service takes you directly into the city centre in minutes, giving you easy access to many museums and historical sites right on our doorstep.
