I like privacy All bills will be paid on time. If I forget to pay a bill, I will pay the penalty. To be fair, each housemate will have at least one account in their name (rent/electricity/insurance/internet, etc.). We shouldn't easily forget to settle the bill with the other partner after the third of each month. Each person should respect each other's privacy and personal space. Music, television, and other noise should be kept to a minimum after certain agreed-upon hours. If one of them has exams, it's customary to be extra careful and courteous. If you're sick, I'll cook for you (automatically). If I'm sick, you help me cook. If we're both sick, we order pizza with toppings. This works even if one of us is very busy. Cleaning and maintaining the house is a shared responsibility. We don't need a dishwashing and toilet-cleaning schedule taped to the refrigerator as long as we act responsibly. If I have a car, I'll carry the groceries. You can accompany me or take on another household chore. The living room furniture (sofa/dining table/TV) is for everyone. There can be no "this is mine, this is yours" mentality. We'll maintain an even split of finances, but we'll never fight over a few pennies or two dollars. Being too stubborn ruins a potential friendship. Whenever possible, we'll eat together. It's nice to have someone to talk to, someone to vent to, someone to complain to... you know, just someone. We all make mistakes. We all say things we regret. We all have bad days. We'll try to forgive each other and move on (unless it's a recurring occurrence, in which case it should be dealt with). The rules are for a reason. The goal is to help people from different walks of life coexist harmoniously and call home. But let's not overdo it. This isn't a prison. Rules are negotiable, and compromise is a way of life..
