I just moved to Vancouver a couple days ago and realized what a nightmare the situation has become our trying to rent a place at a reasonable price.. I'm also noticing that so many of the ads are for girls only, which makes it really rough being a guy. And two of the ads I've responded too so far have been scams. I'm too smart to fall for scams, but it's still really disheartening.. I just want a place to live. I just want to make it clear, I'm not a misogynist. Infact I typically get along well with the women I've talked with. The reason I'm specifying a male for this ad, is because I myself am realizing how difficult it is to get an affordable place in this city as a guy. Like, guys need a place too. Also, I only listed my "identify as" (bi), because I'm open and I've got nothing to hide. It's none of my concern what you identify as. After all, this is a rental ad, not a dating ad. But, that said, if you feel like disclosing that information, you can know that I am one of the least judgmental people that you will ever meet. As for me, I'm quiet, mostly keep to myself unless engaged, but I've got a lot to say to those that take interest. I'm pretty decent at reading social ques though, so I generally know when to bow out of a conversation, and busy myself elsewhere. I'm not a partier type and not looking for a partier type. Another quiet type that's into kinda 'nerdy' stuff, would be ideal. I'm currently working on improving my skills in graphic design, and looking to continue my schooling once I've found a place to rest my blistered feet. For me, mutual respect, and communication are key to a successful roommate situation. I'm pretty flexible and not really demanding. I just don't like it when there's always dishes in the sink, cuz I don't want flies in the apartment (they'll breed in the still waters - usually fruit flies). But like, if you throw your jacket beside the couch, I won't complain so long as it's not in a place that it'll be tripped over. I mean, your home is a place to relax in, and to feel relaxed. The last thing anyone wants, or needs is additional undue stress. Oh, only other thing is, inviting people into our place, family, anytime so long as it's not like a family reunion every other day, and they don't move in, lol. Friends, so long as you know them very well. Preferably no people that you just met the other day. I've got valuable stuff, and I'm sure you do as well; so we just need to be mindful, and considerate of who we're letting in. Coming into the doorway for a minute to wait while you grab a thing or two, that's ok, so long as these people you just met aren't wandering through the place while you're doing that. This is just for safety and security, I don't want to be a total buzzkill, and of course there can be some flexibility depending on the circumstances. A lot of it is just common sense really. I checked off apartment in my profile, but only because it will only let me select one. I'm good to get whatever will be ideal for our living situation. But I'm good with 850 each. if your budget is as low as 600, still message and maybe we can work something out, but it'd be best to have more in order to maximize available options. And if we could afford an apartment, we may not even have to browse ads. I/we may just be able to visit the actual buildings and see what's available. Final note, we can split on any internet/ hydro bills. And I've got Netflix, Amazon prime, and Disney plus, and I will share those so long as I can without giving account info, and I won't charge for that.
