Upstairs (on the second floor, main/first floor is shared kitchen, living room, dining room, and west-facing back deck) housemates are 2 women in their 30s and 40s. For those with allergies, please note this is a cat home! We keep the house and yard clean and well-maintained, cozy, welcoming, with a mutually respectful grown-adult vibe, and are looking for someone who is into the same.
Please 🙏 do not get hype that this is a good deal in an "up-and-coming neighborhood": we respect and daily nurture our relationships with our neighbors, who are largely elderly DC natives both precariously housed and unhoused, surrounded by gentrification/displacement that has really kicked into high gear in the last year in particular.
We spend a good amount of our time and energy with a mutual aid collective serving encampments around town, and keep that energy here at home for neighbors who have use for harm reduction supplies (thank you neighborhood legends HIPS! https://www.hips.org/how-we-improve-lives.html) and other survival needs. TL;dr we look out for each other around here, being excellent to each other becomes more important every day, and we hope you feel the same/are down to make a kind, safe, and chill addition to the house and block. Feel free to reach out with any and all questions!
