Liz is Looking for a Room to Rent

🏠 Looking for Room/Roommates or Shared Apartment in Brea (or 15 mile radius) – Move-In by August 30 🏠 Hi there! My name is Liz, and I’m looking to either rent a room or team up with someone to find a 2–3 bedroom apartment in the Brea area. It would be me and my 8-year-old daughter, who will be sharing one room together. 📦 What I Bring to the Table: I come with lots of furniture (couch, fridge, dining table & chairs), so if we’re teaming up on an apartment, I can furnish most of the place. If I’m renting a room, I’m happy to put these in storage. I also have extra bedroom furniture if someone needs a furnished room—price would just be slightly higher to reflect that. 🧍‍♀️ A Bit About Us: I’m 32, cis female, pansexual, in a long distance and committed relationship, recently graduated from CSUF in human services: mental health. I intend to apply for grad school for fall 2026. Until then, i am in between jobs, but i have been living off my savings. I am japanese/white mix, neurodivergent (autistic & ADHD) but laid-back, respectful, and value clear communication. I am a black and white thinker and tend to have patterned thinking based on the people's consistent behavior. If I ask a question, it's not to nagging or being annoying it's because I am trying to understand something rather than assume. I am working on unmasking and being my most authentic self at home, so I hope that our potential roommate is looking to do the same. I keep shared areas tidy and don’t mind guests as long as they’re communicated beforehand. No smoking/partying. I rarely drink. I mostly stay in, play video games, and hang with my daughter. I am also a homebody, I like art, reading, advocacy, mental health, and jigsaw puzzles. My daughter is sweet, respectful, social, and into slime, board games, coloring, and cartoons. She stays with her dad 2 weekends a month. She also goes to school from 8 am to 6pm. Her bedtime is usually 8-9 pm, and we try to be up by 6:30 am to get to school on time. We’re both pet friendly and have no allergies. 👨‍💻 About My Cousin (if he joins): 38 years old, white, hetero male, works from home 5 AM–5 PM and games during his free time. Will handle the internet setup (important for his job). Enjoys the occasional beer and keeps to himself. May have a guest visit from time to time (always respectful). He has a crass sense of humor, but is relatively a kind person who cracks jokes a lot. He prefers quietness and noise kept a minimum (shouting, slamming doors, anything done with force is not ideal). He's also clean and picks up after himself. He may vape in his room (but this isn't mandatory and not a deal breaker. Roommate Preferences: Ideally someone direct, honest, and communicative (I struggle with subtle social cues, so clear communication is key). Friendly, respectful of shared spaces, and open to casual hangouts like game nights—but also values privacy.
