Joy is Looking for a House to Rent

I’m 25 years old, a proud trans woman, and I’m also autistic. These parts of me are important, because they shape how I see the world and how I connect with the people and places around me. I’m taken, and my relationship is something I really value—it gives me a sense of love, stability, and support. Outside of that, I’m happiest when I get to spend time in nature. I love fishing, hunting, and swimming, each for different reasons. Fishing gives me a sense of calm and patience, letting me slow down and enjoy the peace of the water. Hunting connects me to traditions and skills that require focus, respect for the environment, and responsibility. Swimming, on the other hand, feels freeing. Being in the water helps me feel weightless, relaxed, and strong all at once. I think being outdoors gives me balance. It helps me recharge when things feel overwhelming, and it keeps me connected to something bigger than myself. As someone who is autistic, routines and sensory experiences can really shape how I feel, so spending time outside gives me both comfort and excitement in ways that are grounding. I try to live authentically, appreciating the things I love and the people who care for me. I enjoy sharing who I am—not just my interests, but also my identity—because it’s all part of the bigger picture of me. Life feels best when I can be true to myself and enjoy the world around me.
