Burnaby Homestay! We are looking to rent out one room to a student in our 3 bedroom top floor unit in a house. Meals are not included. The house is fully furnished and your room is furnished with a single bed/linens, desk and has a closet. We are in a great location in North Burnaby just off Willingdon between Hastings and Lougheed. We are a ten min walk from the Brentwood Skytrain and less than a block to a bus stop. We are also close to rapid transit on Hastings which goes downtown or to SFU. We are a 15 min bus ride to BCIT. The bathroom, kitchen and living room are shared spaces and you are welcome to use any of our kitchen appliances and tv/games (board or video) We have a fairly large backyard with fruit trees and a garden as well as a large deck and garage for storage. We share the laundry with the downstairs tenants having it available alternating days. About us: Nicole and Karl are a married couple in our early 40s who live here full time. Most weekends Karl's 15 year old son comes over, although he is going to be away all summer. He is a kind and considerate teen who like to play video games and do outdoor activites. Nicole is an early childhood educator working in North Vancouver and Karl is an Air Canada Flight attendant and security guard. We are both vegan and would love if we can find a vegan or vegetarian to move in but are open to anyone. We like to play board games, garden, craft, ride our ebikes and watch movies. We are not a party household and are respectful of noise at night and in the mornings. We have no pets and our home is non smoking. We are lgbt+ friendly and don't accept hate/racism in our home. Minimum stay of 3 months is preferred and there is a $500 damage deposit. Rent is due the day before the 1st and payable by cash or e-transfer. The room is available starting July 1st. We have a 4 bedroom home in Coquitlam. We are in our early 60’s. We keep our home very clean. Close to buses, malls, library, skytrain. No pets, non-smokers. Enjoy learning about new cultures and want to travel when we retire. We have a large kitchen, breakfast area and family room with open floor plan. Separate kitchen is available for guests to use. KITCHEN RULES: Kitchen can only be used between 7am and 7pm. Preferably only twice a day. Clean up sink, counters and oven after each use. Put away all dishes and pots and pans and utensils used and where they were found. Remove garbage from kitchen catcher and when food bin is full. Beautiful parks are nearby. Ask guests with long stays to clean up their personal space. No shoes in the house. Noise to kept to an absolute minimum. Do not use your cell phone on speaker when in common areas. Turn off lights when you leave your room. Do not leave heating on when not home. Keep your room clean at ALL times. Long term stays will require a 50% deposit is required once agreed. If long term stay then 1st month is required upon agreement. Then monthly payments. Home is close to the following: Bus stops are 2 minutes walk from home. Coquitlam Centre Mall - 10 minutes by bus. Lafarge Park - 5 minutes walk. Rocky Point Park - 15 minutes by bus. Wal-Mart shopping is in Coquitlam Centre Coquitlam Recreation Centre Douglas College Full set of house rules will be given to guests upon arrival.
