Currently I am studying to become a Dutch language teacher in the Netherlands, and as part of my program I get the opportunity to go abroad. I will be joining Camosun College for two semesters. This means that I will be flying to Canada in the 29th of December where I will arrive at Victoria airport late evening and leave at the end of August/ start of September (a return flight has not yet been bought). My biggest argument for undertaking this for my study program is the fact that classrooms get more divers every year. With globalisation and the wars going on the diversity if religions and cultures gets wider. Though I cannot, and hopefully never will be able, relate to war related trauma, I do want to experience what culture shock can be like so I can better relate and help the children in my classroom. This would not be my first time living on my own (with or without roommates), so I am aware of what it entails and capable of cleaning up after myself. I am not much of a party (or drug) girl and would prefer to spend my time exploring the local sites and nature (especially seeing as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity).

The bus stop is a 5 minute walk and a 20 minute ride to the downtown core. Uvic is also around 25 minutes on the bus.
