Our mature garden hosts a rich variety of fruits, flowers and native plants. Several walks begin at our doorstep, taking you through unspoilt bush to hidden bays, mangrove inlets and ever changing views of the Manucau inlet. Britta and I are both artists and teach film making and game design at Auckland University of Technology. We are also keen photographers, with a special interest in the magnificent natural beauty of the Waitakeres National Park. We are happy to take visitors on guided tours of some of its most breathtaking landscapes. Titirangi is very much a cultural centre for West Auckland. It hosts the world class Te Uru Contemporary Art Gallery, the Upstairs Community Art Gallery and the McCahon House Museum, dedicated to the life work of the renowned local artist Colin McCahon. We have one double bedroom for guests, and one shared bathroom. We have two bicycles available and a bus stop close by. The house is a 40 minute taxi ride from Auckland International Airport or the city centre.

The bus stop is only a few metres away with regular services. We go out and show some great places at various times. I also have two dogs that spend time with co-parents in another part of Auckland but come back now and then to stay for a bit. They are seriously gentle, cute and well-behaved. Kingsland is close to the city and there are frequent buses and trains into the city / supermarkets. My partner and I are working full time so our home would suit someone mature and independent. We would be happy to pick you up from the airport and give recommendations for the best places to visit in the city. The room is downstairs in our house and you would have access to a lounge and kitchen that is shared with maximum one other people. You would need to cook your own but the kitchen has a large fridge and everything you need to make basic meals. The bathroom, toilet and laundry are shared. You can also enjoy the sunny backyard and garden.

Room #1- well-furnished bedroom has two single beds, linens, desk, chair, wardrobes, mirror and table Room#2 - well furnished with a double bed, linens, chair, desk, mirror, wardrobe and table lamp. A separate bathroom is there for the guests of the two rooms. The train station and public bus stops are at 3-5 minutes walks from home; 5 minutes on train to Auckland CBD. Easy access to motorways. Free ultra-fast broadband internet available. Supermarkets (including Chinese, European, Russian, Japanese, Korean), shopping mall, restaurants, shops, cinemas, cafes, parks, train station, bus stops, clinics, pharmacies, post shop, banks, etc. are within 5-7 mins walking distance.
