Searching in Oakville, ON
Good Day,
I’m a born-and-raised Torontonian returning home after some time in Quebec, and I’m currently looking for a shared living situation that’s respectful, warm, and cooperative. I’ve lived in shared homes before and really understand the rhythms and give-and-take that make them work well.
I’m 64, in excellent health, and very comfortable keeping a neat, clean, and peaceful space. I’m a retired teacher whose career ranged from schools just below the tree line to the inner city of Toronto. I also authored a successful workbook series for Scholastic—and, for a short while, even served as the acting mayor of Stony Rapids, Saskatchewan.
These days, I’m gradually building momentum as a background actor, usually working 30–50 hours a month. That complements my teacher pension & modest royalties from publications, music and photography. Over the years I’ve worn many hats: corporate and wedding DJ, Toronto taxi driver, singing messenger, property manager, landlord—you name it, I’ve probably tried it.
Creatively, I’ve sung in rock bands, produced electronic music and videos, and I’m often working on some new music or vlogging project. I also create digital art and photography under the name Hal Halli. I’m pretty comfortable with a wide range of computer tools—maybe not essential for shared living, but it gives you a sense of who I am.
Mindfulness and meditation are part of my daily routine, and I like to stay active. My cooking leans mostly vegetarian (with some fish and the occasional free-range chicken). I enjoy preparing healthy meals, keeping the home peaceful and orderly, and connecting with positive, inspired people of all ages.
I hope my age doesn’t give you pause—most people find I’m very easygoing, respectful, and chill to live with.
Warm regards,
Harold Jarnicki
