Two of them do not live nearby, and I only travel to see them. My oldest son does live locally. However, I also go visit him. I am a very quiet person and only do my homework when I am home. I do have an 11 year old Frenchie mix that is my ESA. He is fully vetted and house trained. He often goes to work with me. I like a nice, peaceful private home that I feel safe in. I do not have visitors at my home with the exception of my brother very rarely and my sister & niece often. I believe your home is supposed to be your safe space and sanctuary. I usually cook at work so not much at home. Just need more cost effective living while I finish my degree and hopefully save some money to buy my forever home.
